Heating: Use the dedicated Shrink Fit Machine to apply localized and uniform heating to the clamping area at the front end of the tool shaft (typically up to 300°C - 400°C).
Material: The clamping part of the Heat shrink extension rod is made of a special type of heat-expandable alloy steel.
Expansion: After being heated, the diameter of the front end of the knife shaft will expand precisely (usually by only a few micrometers).
Inserting the tool: Quickly insert the cutting tool (such as a milling cutter, drill bit) into the expanded hole.
Cooling: The tool shaft naturally cools and contracts in the air or through a cooling sleeve, thereby uniformly wrapping the handle of the tool with a great gripping force (usually exceeding 10,000 N).
Remove the tool: When it is necessary to replace the knife, heat the clamping area again. After the hole diameter expands, the knife can be easily removed.

Extremely small radial runout (< 0.003mm): The uniform contraction clamping method ensures extremely high repeatability of tool clamping accuracy, which is crucial for improving the surface quality of the processed parts, ensuring dimensional accuracy, and prolonging the tool's lifespan.
Greater extension capability: Under the same processing requirements, compared to other types of tool holders, the Heat shrink extension rod allows for the use of longer extensions while still maintaining stability. It is an essential tool for deep cavity and deep hole processing.
Interference is minimal: The shaft is slender, and its diameter can be made smaller than that of hydraulic handles or side-mounted handles, making it easier to avoid interfering with the workpiece and fixtures.
