Single teeth are inexpensive and have a wide range of processing options:
It can process different pitches, and there is no rotation direction restriction for internal and external threads with any straight shank. Moreover, it can process blind holes, thereby reducing procurement costs.
Three flute teeth have a high cost perform ance ratio and ate more efficient than single teeth:
The first flute is milled and then the following two flutes are ground. However, they cannot be adjusted. The processing is of fixed pitch and features a gap avoidance design.
